AIM for success.

Today Pt England School had an unexpected encounter. The name of that person was Mr Andrew Patterson, he came to our school to talk about the year 8's future but the year 7 had to tun in and listen too because this talk was going to happen to them next year.

The first thing that I remember that Mr Patterson was talking about was that time don't slow down for anyone, and you should make the most of your time before you pass on. There was something that Mr Patterson said "My friend counts and reminds himself of how many days he has left." I also have a saying of my own, treat every day of your life like it your last and enjoy the most of it.

Word Problems - Adding and Subtracting.

WALT -  find an appropriate strategy to solve each word problem

TASK: This week I learned how to use different strategies to solve addition and subtraction word problems, so that I'm ready for testing week. My personal think is that stage 7 is hard to understand if you don't know how to work the problems out, I also think that it's challenging for your brain to get around the strategies that the problems are trying to teach.

There are different types of plants in the world.

WALT -  Find evidence in a text Use the process of elimination to find the 'best fit' answer.

TASK: Today my group and I learned about carnivorous plants. Carnivorous plants are way different from ordinary plants, instead of getting there nutrients from the sun, soil, and water they get there's from bugs and beetles. After reading about carnivorous plants I had to fill in all the answers that were on the question sheet, I thought it was pretty easy considering how I just learned about carnivorous plants.

Musical Madness

This term's theme is MUSICAL MADNESS, And I can't wait to learn all about emotional music because this will be my last term at Pt England School before I move onto college, so I'll try my hardest before I rock it out.
Image result for Musical madness

The teachers from team 3 made me laugh, as well as all people of many ages. When they started lip sinking to the songs and putting some action to it, it felt like they were telling a story through movement. I think the teachers were trying to keep in mind that It has to be something with MUSICAL MADNESS and to make everybody laugh their guts out.

Singing in the CAR? That sounds a bit weird, isn't it supposed to be singing in the shower? The teachers from team 4's made a video about carpool karaoke, they switch seats and played random music but when they started to sing and dance it looked like the teachers were going to break the car.

Finally, we've come to an end and it's time to tell you about the family full of teachers from term 5. It's a Friday night and the Mother, Father and there three adopted darters were all getting ready for the family movie night. The family was watching the lion king at first but as the movie played on the music changed, they showed different emotions just by listening to the music. When the movie was over, the family showed different expression on there faces.

Thank you for reading my recount to the end, I hope you come back and read some more.

Lights, Camera, ACTION.

Today we have just started filming our awesome movie for the Film Festival, First of all, our movie is about slow motion. We're trying to get everyone in my class (Rm 1) to get involved with something, for example.

I'm going to be hit in the face by a water balloon, so the camera should focus on my shoulders and up but the main objective is to get my head. We recently went down to the school reserve and started to shoot, it was funny when ever someone got hit in the face or the stomach by the water balloons because once the balloon hit their skin started to wiggle like jelly.

TASK: This week we are learning to calculate the perimeter and area of a 2D shape. My task was to find the distance surrounding the outside of a shape, at first I found it hard because I didn't know anything about perimeters, but as I continued to learn more about perimeters, It started to easier.

Next was finding the area of a shape, I looked and read one of the question about area's but I didn't understand any of it, so I started watch a few videos on how to find the area of a shape and next thing you know finding the area of a shape was like easy as eating pie.

Let's GLOW!!! DISCO

WALA - We Are Learning About:
1) The language features used in advertising
2) The different forms media advertising may take

We had to create a poster on a glow and the dark disco theme, and try to use language features and the information about  the event, who can go, what the theme is, where it is, when it starts and why we are doing a disco night.

Here is a photo of my poster that I created:

Identify what makes this poster a good ad?

WALA: The language features used in advertising. The different forms media advertising may take.

Our task was to write on a piece of paper that Mrs Iloa gave to the whole classroom. We had to list down the things that we can identify in the poster. We also had share our ideas with the classroom on what made our poster a really good ad. What I have learnt is that, there are different ways of how your ad can look, or the way you choose to set it up.

Measuring mates & things Wk 3 T3.

WALT: Measure accurately and to find the difference between two numbers.

In pairs we had to create a video that a year 5 or 6 child could use to help them find the difference between 2 numbers. My partner and I had to explain how two find the difference between two numbers, to find the differences between two numbers you have to take the smaller number from the bigger number. For example (58 - 37 = ?) First you have to split the smaller number so it will be easier for you, then you subtract (58 - 7= 51) and next you (51 - 30 = 21) and your answer should be 21. So there you have it I hope you guys learned something.

Add/Sub decimal numbers E7 -Place value partitioning Wk2 T3.

WALT -  Use reversibility to solve addition and subtraction problems                           that include tenths and hundredths.
TASK: This week we have be learning how to add and subtract decimals. Our learning intention is that we are learning to split numbers into hundredths, tenths, ones, and tens to solve addition and subtraction below.

In The Holidays.

In The Holidays
Finally school has ended and the holidays have begun, It felt like an eternity of hard work has been lifted and a new beginning has started.

In the first week of holidays I went to Sylvia Park Hoyts to watch Transformers: The Last Knight, I went along with my Aunty and cousin to go buy some snacks for the movie. It was half an hour before the movie started and there was a game room around the corner.

So for half an hour we played video games and claw machines, in the end we ended up getting nothing so we went back into the lobby to check if  Transformers: The Last Knight was ready to watch. *Two hours……* “At was an awesome movie I hope there's another transform movie”

After the movie we called my papa to come and pick us up but he said his eyes can't see when it’s too dark so we ended up walking a the way back home.

After the video we had to start our first activity, our first activity was about answering question in the topic's Think, Feel & Believe.

Tenths/Hundredth blocks Wk7 T2.

WALT - Represent decimal numbers and solve equations using objects.
Our task was to us objects that symbolises the Ones, Tenths & Hundredths so it would be easier for us to understand, after using objects we tried doing it without the objects and I found it easy to understand. Then we started our activity, first thing we had to do was take a photos of the objects as a decimal. Then we had to copy and paste pictures of the the objects underneath the decimals writ-in down.
